Mary Alice Helm, aged 44, was last seen on January 16, 2007, in the Alta area of Placer County, California. She had been staying at a friend's house when she apparently went for a walk and never returned. At the time of her disappearance, Helm did not take essential items such as her purse, extra clothing, or the medication she required to manage her diabetes, raising concerns about her well-being.
