She was last seen at her residence on Dunkirk Lane, off Dixie Highway, on February 9, 2008. Her husband, Bradley Hubbard Jr., told authorities that he had left their home for a short period, and when he returned, Patricia was gone. She has not been seen or heard from since. Her family, concerned for her welfare, officially reported her missing the following day.
At the time of her disappearance, Patricia was described as a white female with blonde, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes, standing at approximately five feet six inches tall and weighing around 120 to 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink sweater and blue jeans. Patricia had a pre-existing knee injury that caused her to walk with a limp and she often used a cane for assistance; however, her cane was found left behind at her home.

Court records revealed a history of domestic violence, with Patricia having sought emergency protection orders against her husband in the years 2000, 2004, and 2006. Another woman had also taken out a similar order against him in 2007. Bradley Hubbard Jr. had previously been charged with terroristic threatening after allegedly threatening to kill his wife. Despite this volatile past, the couple had reportedly reconciled by the time of her disappearance, and there were no active protective orders in place. Investigators found no signs of a struggle or any weapons inside their home. Though he was the last known person to see her, Bradley was never officially named as a suspect in his wife's case. The circumstances took a somber turn three months later, in May 2008, when Bradley Hubbard Jr.'s body was discovered in a field. His death, at the age of 44, was ultimately ruled a suicide by overdose.
