Katie Jo Brewer, a 71-year-old woman from Bonham, Texas, went missing on September 12, 2009. Katie, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, was last seen by her husband at their home on Carpenter Loop in the early morning hours between 1:00 and 2:30 a.m. When her husband woke up later that morning, she was gone. Katie was described as mobile, in good physical health, and in need of constant care due to her condition.
Despite an extensive search effort, including a Silver Alert and local searches, no trace of Katie was found, except for her shoes, which were discovered in a muddy area less than half a mile from her home. Family members issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to her safe return, but her whereabouts remain unknown.
Katie was last seen wearing navy blue capri pants and a striped shirt, and she had distinguishing characteristics such as a scar under her eye and crooked fingers from arthritis.
