Denise Christine Rodriguez, 17, was last seen on March 10, 1984, during a late-night outing with her boyfriend, Richardo Lupercio, and another couple at the Sutro Baths cliff area near San Francisco. The group was enjoying the scenic location around 2:30 a.m. when Denise, while leaning against a guardrail, lost her balance as Richardo tried to embrace her. Tragically, both Denise and Richardo fell between 30 to 50 feet into the rocky surf below.
Despite efforts by their friends to seek help, both Denise and Richardo were pulled out to sea by the strong currents and were never seen again. Their bodies were never recovered, and they are presumed dead. Denise had been wearing white pants, a red blouse, red high-heeled shoes, and a ruby ring at the time of her disappearance.
