Richard Gerald Bayne, 31, was last seen on May 24, 1984, in Montrose, New York, where he was a patient at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital. He had a history of paranoid schizophrenia and alcoholism. Bayne, who stood 5'6" and weighed around 170 pounds, was wearing a white checkered shirt and blue jeans at the time of his disappearance. He also had distinctive scars on his left arm and left finger. Despite being missing since May 1984, Bayne wasn’t reported as missing until January 1985.
