Clark Toshiro Handa, a 3-year-old boy, was abducted from his family’s home in Fairfield, California, on the night of August 22, 1984. Clark was taken from his bedroom, where he had been sleeping alongside five family members. The kidnapper left a ransom note demanding $25,000 for Clark’s return. Although the family complied with the note's demands, the abductors never showed up, and Clark was never returned.
For decades, the case remained unsolved, with few leads emerging.
In 2016, however, Michael Anthony Blas Fejarang, a family friend, was charged with Clark's kidnapping and murder. Fejarang, who was already serving time in prison for unrelated crimes, confessed to the abduction and murder but claimed not to remember where Clark’s body was buried. He later pled no contest to first-degree murder and was sentenced to an additional 25 years to life in prison in 2017.
