Jeremiah George Huger, a 4-year-old boy from the Bronx, New York, was last seen on June 25, 1985. He was playing in the playground behind his grandmother’s apartment in the Twin Parks housing project on LaFontaine Avenue when an unidentified African-American man called his name from the street. When Jeremiah approached, the man grabbed him, and they both disappeared. Despite extensive searches, neither Jeremiah nor the man was ever seen again.
At the time of his disappearance, Jeremiah was wearing a light blue shirt, dark blue shorts, and white sneakers. He had distinctive features, including a scar on his left forearm and a bowlegged left leg. His mother, who was his legal guardian along with his grandmother, has since recovered from drug addiction, which developed after his abduction, and continues to search for her son. There is speculation that Jeremiah may have been sold after being kidnapped, though his mother believes a jealous former boyfriend who had previously threatened to take Jeremiah could be involved.
