Shannon Marie Sherrill, a 6-year-old girl from Thorntown, Indiana, disappeared on October 5, 1986, while playing hide-and-seek with other children near her family's trailer home. She was last seen around 1:30 p.m. in the yard, and no one witnessed her leaving the area. Despite extensive searches, including the use of K-9 units that tracked her scent to a nearby cornfield and cemetery, Shannon was never found. The case has been classified as a non-family abduction.
