On November 2, 2023, 48-year-old Jeremy Peregrin Shirley was last seen at his residence on Elm Street in Bishop, California. Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds, Jeremy has white hair and blue eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black zip-up sweater, dark-colored pants, and a black or gray hat. He left home riding a blue bicycle equipped with a blue milk crate on the back and a basket on the front.

Prior to his disappearance, Jeremy expressed concerns for his safety, indicating a desire to "hide out." He turned off all his electronic devices before leaving, including his cellular phone and tablets, which were later found at his residence along with his Social Security card, debit card, and medical insurance card. It is believed he may have taken his passport with him. Jeremy has bipolar disorder and was reportedly experiencing a manic episode at the time.

In late November 2023, Jeremy's bicycle was discovered behind Bishop Airport near the north fork of Bishop Creek. Despite extensive searches by foot, air, and canine units in the surrounding areas, no further traces of him have been found. Since his disappearance, there has been no activity on his bank account, and he had not made any large withdrawals prior. Jeremy has connections to Ohio, Tennessee, Arizona, and New Zealand, but he typically stays close to home.

The Bishop Police Department continues to seek information regarding Jeremy's whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to contact them at 760-873-5866.
