Christi Jo Nichols, a 22-year-old mother of two, went missing on December 10, 1987, in Gothenburg, Nebraska. On the night of her disappearance, she and her husband, Mark Nichols, left their children with a babysitter while they went to a local bar. Mark claimed that they returned home and had an argument until 2:00 a.m., after which he went to bed. The next morning, Mark reported Christi missing, but inconsistencies in his story and suspicious behavior raised concerns about his involvement.
