On November 1, 1989, 62-year-old Leland Zook was reported missing from Colorado Springs, Colorado. The report was made by his niece, who expressed concern for his well-being. She informed the Colorado Springs Police Department that her uncle, Leland, struggled with alcoholism. This, coupled with the fact that he did not carry any form of identification, raised immediate concerns for his safety and made the search for him significantly more challenging.
