Kristen Smith, a 20-year-old woman, went missing from Beaumont, Texas, on September 22, 1991. On the day of her disappearance, Kristen, who had recently told her husband, John Smith, that she wanted a divorce, was last seen leaving to go shopping, an activity she was rarely allowed to do alone. Her teal Honda CRX was later found abandoned in a Target parking lot, with her personal belongings still inside, suggesting that she may have been taken against her will.
