In the early morning hours of October 22, 1991, a 26-year-old man named Billy Joe Storkson made a series of phone calls from a bar in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was at Carl's Lounge, located in the 1100 block of South Denver Avenue, and was asking friends and family for a ride. For reasons that remain unclear, each person he called declined his request.
