Kelly Dae Wilson, a 17-year-old from Gilmer, Texas, disappeared on the night of January 5, 1992. She was last seen leaving her job at Northeast Texas Video around 8:30 p.m. to make a nightly bank deposit. Her car was found later that night in the parking lot with a slashed tire, and her personal belongings, including her purse, were left inside, but her keys were missing. Despite extensive searches and investigations, Kelly was never seen or heard from again.
The case took several unexpected turns. Two years after her disappearance, Sergeant James Brown, who was leading the investigation, along with seven others, were indicted for Kelly's abduction and presumed murder, with accusations that the crime was connected to a satanic cult ritual. However, these charges were dropped shortly after, and the theory about a satanic cult was discredited. One suspect, Michael Biby, admitted to slashing Kelly's tire but denied any involvement in her disappearance. Kelly's boyfriend at the time, Chris Denton, was also investigated but was never charged. He passed away in 2004, still maintaining his innocence.
