Duy Quang Phan, a 17-year-old from San Jose, California, went missing on April 17, 1992. He had traveled to Bean Hollow State Beach near Pescadero with friends. While at the beach, Duy entered the ocean and was caught in a strong undertow, pulling him out to sea. Despite immediate search efforts, including divers and a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter, Duy was never found. Authorities believe that he drowned, though his body was never recovered. Due to the circumstances, Duy is classified as a "lost/injured missing person," and his case remains open.
Duy was wearing black swimming trunks at the time of his disappearance and was described as being of Vietnamese descent, with black hair and black eyes. Although presumed dead, his case remains unresolved, and his family and investigators have sought answers for decades.
