Duy Quang Phan, a 17-year-old from San Jose, California, went missing on April 17, 1992. He had traveled to Bean Hollow State Beach near Pescadero with friends. While at the beach, Duy entered the ocean and was caught in a strong undertow, pulling him out to sea. Despite immediate search efforts, including divers and a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter, Duy was never found. Authorities believe that he drowned, though his body was never recovered.
