Phillip John Koss, aged 24, was last seen on March 12, 1995, in Fort Myers, Florida. Koss, who had been living in a group home on Van Buren Street, left the residence around 5:30 p.m. and never returned. He had been residing at the group home following a nervous breakdown, and he was previously a student of music and mechanical engineering at the University of Florida.
Koss had also been an accomplished violinist, playing in the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra before his mental health struggles began.
On March 25, 1995, Koss's red 1991 Geo Metro was found abandoned in the Meadows subdivision in Sarasota, Florida, near his mother's home. His wallet was still inside the vehicle, but there was no sign of Koss himself. Despite some unconfirmed sightings in the local area in the following months, his whereabouts remain unknown, and his case is unsolved.
At the time of his disappearance, Koss had distinguishing features, including light brown hair, blue eyes, and a few scars, along with a history of mental health issues.
