Despite her family’s objections, she left with Pieri, promising to call them upon her arrival in Las Vegas. However, Desiree never made the call and has not been heard from since.
Miguel Angel Pieri also disappeared around the same time, and neither he nor Desiree has been located in the years since. Authorities believe they may have traveled to either Las Vegas or California, but no concrete evidence has surfaced to confirm their whereabouts. Although Desiree’s case was initially classified as a runaway, the circumstances surrounding her disappearance have led investigators to consider her endangered.
