Robert Louis Grossman, age 18, was last seen on August 3, 1997, in Boca Raton, Florida. That evening, he had a brief argument with his mother over his work schedule and left their home on foot at around 9:30 p.m. He was only wearing blue shorts and had no shirt, shoes, money, or identification with him. His family initially believed he had gone to stay with friends to cool off, but after two days of no contact, they reported him missing.
Grossman, who was a senior at Spanish River High School and worked part-time as a camp counselor, was known for being a bright and responsible young man with plans to attend college. His family has long suspected foul play in his disappearance, especially after his girlfriend received a phone call claiming that his body had been dumped in a canal. However, searches of the canal and surrounding areas turned up no evidence.
