Adam Herrman, an 11-year-old boy from Towanda, Kansas, was last seen in early April 1999 at his family’s mobile home in the Pine Ridge Estates. Adam was adopted by Doug and Valerie Herrman and had a history of running away. According to his adoptive parents, he ran away after being spanked with a belt and was never reported missing at the time. Authorities only learned about his disappearance in 2008, when his adoptive sister raised concerns.
