In the late summer of 2000, a young boy named Kristopher Loesch, aged 10, vanished. He was last seen on August 31, 2000, and while he had been attending school in Spokane, Washington, his last known whereabouts were in the area of Pima County, Arizona. At the time of his disappearance, Kristopher was described as a Caucasian male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing at 5'0' and weighing around 100 pounds.
It is believed he may have used the aliases Kristopher Robin Kessler, Kristopher Hanson, or Christopher Robinson. The circumstances surrounding Kristopher's disappearance are deeply troubling and are intrinsically linked to the dark history of his mother, Tina Loesch, and her partner, Skye Hanson.
The story of Kristopher's disappearance is shadowed by the violent deaths of his maternal grandparents. His grandfather, Gary Loesch, was fatally shot in 1995 while delivering newspapers. Then, in 1998, his grandmother, Barbara Loesch, was found deceased in her hot tub. Initially ruled an accident, the case was later reclassified as a homicide when a man named Bradley Steckman confessed in 2004 that he had murdered Barbara at the request of Tina and Skye. The motive appeared to be a $500,000 life insurance policy of which Tina was the beneficiary. Following this confession, investigators also reopened the investigation into Gary Loesch's murder, believing Tina may have been involved in that as well. It is believed that sometime after her mother's death, Tina Loesch, along with Skye Hanson and young Kristopher, fled from Idaho to Arizona.
For years, the trio remained elusive. Kristopher was reportedly living with an acquaintance of his mother's in Spokane Valley, Washington, and attended school there for a time under an assumed name. However, he eventually stopped attending, and it is thought that his mother and Hanson may have homeschooled him for a period. The case took a dramatic turn in November 2008 when Tina Loesch and Skye Hanson were featured on the television show 'America's Most Wanted' in connection with Barbara Loesch's murder. Less than two hours after the broadcast, both women were discovered deceased in a vehicle in a remote area northwest of Tucson, Arizona. Their deaths were the result of a suicide pact, with evidence suggesting Tina shot Skye before taking her own life. A six-page suicide note was found, but it did not admit to any involvement in the murders of Tina's parents. Tragically, there was no sign of Kristopher at the scene, and he has not been seen or heard from since. The Pima County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate his disappearance, a cold case steeped in family tragedy and criminal intrigue.
