On March 3, 2024, 39-year-old Lance Scott Armstrong was last seen in the area of Querino Road, near Houck, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation. His sister had dropped him off on the south side of Interstate 40 at Querino Road. When he was last seen, he had his STIHL chainsaw, a backpack, and a jug of water with him. It is believed that he was in the Wagon Wheel Road area to help local residents by cutting wood for them. Reports suggest he might have been walking or riding a bicycle eastbound on county road 7240 sometime between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Notably, he had left his cell phone and wallet behind at his home.
At the time of his disappearance, Armstrong was described as a Native American male, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing between 175 and 180 pounds. He had black hair and brown eyes and wore black-framed prescription glasses. A scar was present on his neck area. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, and reddish-colored hiking boots. He also had on a black bandana and a red San Francisco 49ers cap. Along with his personal belongings, he was carrying an orange Stihl chainsaw and a black backpack that contained tools.
The Navajo Nation Police Department's Window Rock District initiated an investigation into his disappearance. Tragically, the case was later closed, as it was confirmed that Lance Scott Armstrong had been located and was deceased.
