Paresh Patel, a 36-year-old nightclub owner, was last seen on September 25, 2000, in Austin, Texas. Patel co-owned several nightclubs in Austin’s downtown Sixth Street and Warehouse District areas. On the day of his disappearance, he had picked up cash from one of his clubs and was en route to a meeting at another venue. He was reportedly carrying $15,000 at the time. Later that evening, his white Lexus SUV was found abandoned in downtown Austin near 4th and Lavaca Streets, but Patel was nowhere to be found.

Patel's disappearance was especially concerning because he was scheduled to pick up his children that evening but never arrived. Investigators have suspected foul play in the case, particularly due to the circumstances involving his businesses and a contentious child support dispute. Additionally, in 2004, rumors surfaced that Patel had been murdered and buried on the outskirts of the city, but these claims have never been confirmed.

In 2012, attention shifted to Patel’s former business partners, the Yassine brothers, who were later convicted of unrelated drug and money laundering charges. While one of the brothers, Mike Yassine, has been considered a person of interest, no charges related to Patel's case have been filed. Patel's disappearance remains unsolved, and investigators suspect that foul play was involved.
