Lee Ronald Aroner, a 51-year-old contractor from Seattle, Washington, was last seen on September 1, 2001. A welfare check was conducted at his home after he was reported missing, and authorities found his back door open, but there were no signs of disturbance inside the residence. His car, however, was missing. About three months later, his vehicle was discovered in a remote area near Silver City, New Mexico, with personal items and keys inside, but Lee was not found.
