Janice Kay Matney, 39, was last seen on the night of April 3, 2002, at her residence on State Street in Ottawa, Illinois. Her live-in boyfriend, a registered sex offender, was the last person to see her. He reported her missing several days later. Janice struggled with depression and had a history of drug use, which complicated her case. Notably, she never claimed her last Social Security benefit check, and there was no activity on her accounts after her disappearance.
