Without caller ID, the identity of the person on the other end of the line remains unknown, but Kathrynn was heard telling them she was not allowed to receive calls so late. The following morning, her mother awoke to find that Kathrynn was gone, and a significant amount of her clothing was also missing from their home.
Due to Kathrynn having a history of running away for short periods, her mother did not immediately report her missing, waiting two days before contacting the authorities.
