He was carrying a lunchbox and a backpack when he left and has not been seen or heard from since. His mother reported him missing on September 2, 2005, after realizing he had not returned.
Ratton was known to have a history of drug use, particularly methamphetamine, and had prior convictions related to drug possession.
At the time of his disappearance, Ratton had tattoos on both arms, including a skull and a Nazi symbol, and was known to wear an earring in his left ear. Despite various rumors suggesting that he may have been murdered, no solid evidence has emerged to support these claims.
