He had left on foot, reportedly trying to find a ride to a nearby store, but has not been heard from since. Arturo had a history of occasionally disappearing for short periods, which delayed the report of his disappearance by a week. At the time, he lived with his girlfriend and had some family in the area, though most of his relatives resided in Mexico.
