Susan Powell, a 28-year-old mother of two, was last seen on December 7, 2009, in West Valley City, Utah. She was reported missing after failing to show up for work, and her husband, Josh Powell, claimed that she had left home earlier that night. According to Josh, he had taken their two sons, ages 2 and 4, on a spontaneous camping trip in the middle of a snowstorm to the remote Simpson Springs area.
