Jacqueline Szczepanik, a 43-year-old Brazilian missionary, disappeared alongside her husband Vanderlei and their 7-year-old son, Christopher, in mid-December 2009. The family was last seen at their residence in Omaha, Nebraska, where they had been renovating a former school for a missionary training center. They had moved to Omaha in 2005, and friends initially believed they were away for the holidays, but concerns grew when no one could reach them.
