The two may have traveled to Greece following a protracted legal battle over custody between Asvesta and Andonios’ father, George Petroutsas. At the time of his disappearance, legal proceedings had been ongoing, with a court ruling in favor of his father. Despite the custody ruling, Andonios was abducted, and authorities believe that his mother took him out of the country.
