Carlene Sessions Tengelsen, a 16-year-old from Macon, Georgia, was last seen on June 21, 1972. She had just obtained her driver's license and was excited to drive alone for the first time. That afternoon, she left home in her family's white 1963 Pontiac station wagon to run errands at the Westgate Shopping Center and planned to pick up her younger sister from a summer day camp. She also left a note on her boyfriend's car at his workplace nearby, saying she would see him later that night.
