Ethel Lane, 86, and her 54-year-old daughter, Joyce Hess, were last seen on October 18, 1974, in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. The two women lived together on West Gazley Road. Their disappearance has puzzled authorities for decades. Shortly after their disappearance, Ethel’s brother, Johnson “John” Ramsower, who lived next door, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
