Joyce Hess, 54, was last seen on October 18, 1974, in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. She lived with her elderly mother, Ethel Lane, on West Gazley Road. Both women disappeared under mysterious circumstances and were never heard from again. Their neighbor and relative, 75-year-old Johnson Ramsower, who lived next door, was found dead shortly after their disappearance in what was determined to be a suicide.
