On April 30, 1978, 9-year-old Christopher William Vigil disappeared while hiking with his family on the Grey Rock Mountain Trail in Poudre Canyon, Colorado. He was hiking ahead of his mother and younger brother and was last seen around 2:30 p.m. When his family reached a section of the trail where Christopher should have been, they could not find him. His mother reported him missing three hours later at 5:30 p.m.
