Powell disappeared under suspicious circumstances, and his vehicle was discovered abandoned over a month later, on April 23, 1984, in a parking lot in Irving, Texas. At the time of his disappearance, Powell stood between 5'7" and 5'10", with blond hair, blue eyes, and a distinctive mole on his right cheek.
He also had an orthodontic retainer on his lower teeth and a unique feature where both of his pinky fingers were permanently curved inward.
Foul play is suspected in Powell's case, but despite extensive efforts, no further information has surfaced to explain his disappearance. Law enforcement agencies, including the Fort Worth Police Department, continue to investigate, and his case remains open as an endangered missing person.
