Mary Ann Bagenstose, a 25-year-old nurse's aide and mother, was last seen on June 5, 1984, in West Willow, Pennsylvania. At the time, she was estranged from her husband, Jere Bagenstose, with whom she shared a 2-year-old son. The couple had been going through a contentious custody battle, and Mary Ann had recently been granted custody of their child, with a formal hearing scheduled for June 15, 1984.
