Dennis Scott, a 48-year-old man, was last seen on July 27, 1998, near a tent community in Ward Valley Camp, located about 23 miles west of Needles, California. He had been staying in this community and was observed walking south into the desert on the day of his disappearance. Witnesses reported that he may have been carrying a red backpack when he left.
