Fawcett was last seen in Juneau, Alaska sometime during September 1999. He was homeless and living on the streets at the time. After that month, he stopped cashing checks that were sent to him; the checks started getting returned in October 1999.
He has never been heard from again and his whereabouts remain unknown. He may have been sighted in Yakutat, Alaska in September 2009, ten years after he disappeared, but this is unconfirmed.
