Rosio Monica Beltran, 26, was last seen on September 9, 2000, after leaving the Bellbottoms nightclub in North Richland Hills, Texas. She was accompanied by Mario Alberto Prieto, a man she had just met that night. Surveillance footage captured them leaving the club together around 1:00 a.m. Neighbors in Prieto's Bear Creek apartment later reported hearing screams around 2:30 a.m. that morning.

Investigators later discovered significant evidence pointing to foul play. Bloodstains matching Beltran’s DNA were found inside Prieto’s apartment, particularly in the bathroom and bedroom, despite attempts to clean and repaint the area. Witnesses also reported seeing Prieto remove a heavy, foul-smelling box from his apartment the following day. Shortly after Beltran’s disappearance, Prieto fled the area and was tracked to San Antonio, where he died in a police shootout on September 11, 2000. Despite thorough searches, including at a nearby landfill, Beltran’s body has never been found.

Beltran, a native of Peru, was working as an au pair in Texas at the time, with plans to improve her English before returning to Peru to pursue a teaching career. Authorities believe she was the victim of a homicide, and her case remains unsolved.
