Jana Carpenter-Koklich, a 41-year-old woman from Lakewood, California, was last seen on August 17, 2001, after attending an Eric Clapton concert with friends. According to her husband, Bruce Koklich, Jana returned home late that evening. She was scheduled to meet her personal trainer the next morning, but never arrived, which was highly unusual for her. Her mother also attempted to contact her several times throughout the day on August 18, but received no response.
