On a winter's day in Tennessee, February 4, 2006, 49-year-old Roger Dale Douglas vanished. He had made his way from Murfreesboro to Nashville with the intention of visiting the Eastside Bar. A waitress at the bar recalled seeing him there, but that would be the last confirmed sighting of Roger. From that point on, his life, once filled with routine and connection, became a haunting question mark. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a white male with black, collar-length hair, blue eyes, and a mustache. Distinctive features included a scar on his left arm and tattoos on both of his arms and forearms. He had also suffered a significant open, depressed left skull fracture years earlier, in 1982. When he was last seen, he was wearing a black leather jacket, a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes. The days turned into weeks, and with no word from Roger, concern among his family grew into a deep-seated fear. His sister, Reba Loftis, last saw him two days before he disappeared and remembered their final moments as being filled with laughter. She described her older brother as a compassionate man who found joy in helping others, often volunteering with a local religious organization, Greenhouse Ministries, to support those in need. His kindness extended not just to people but also to animals; he was known for feeding the stray cats in his apartment complex. Reba was firm in her belief that her brother would not have voluntarily walked away from his life and the people he cared about. The official report of his disappearance was filed with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on March 29, 2006. The investigation into Roger's disappearance is being handled by the Nashville Metro Police Department, as Nashville was his last known location. Over the years, his case has remained open, a cold case filled with unanswered questions. For his family, the lack of resolution has meant an ongoing emotional struggle, a cycle of hope and despair with every unidentified person's discovery. The case of Roger Dale Douglas serves as a somber reminder of the ambiguity and enduring pain that surrounds a missing person investigation. His loved ones are left to wonder what happened after he left the Eastside Bar on that February day, a day that now marks a sorrowful anniversary in their lives.
