John Weisbecker, a 21-year-old man from Ocean City, New Jersey, was last seen on March 11, 2009, at his home on Asbury Avenue. That morning, John spoke with his mother and was later seen by a postal worker around 10:30 a.m. However, when his mother returned home in the evening, John was missing, and his car was still in the driveway. Inside the house, signs of a possible struggle were discovered, with furniture slightly out of place, though no valuables appeared to be missing.
