On May 6, 2010, 24-year-old Ashley Marie Carroll was last seen in Albany, New York. A friend dropped her off in the vicinity of Quail and First Streets that evening. Hailing from Troy, New York, Ashley had traveled to Albany with the intention of meeting her boyfriend, with whom she had been arguing via text messages. Following this meeting, she reportedly planned to travel to New York City for a few days with a friend, with an expected return on May 9. She had left her one-year-old daughter in the care of a friend for the weekend. However, there is no evidence to suggest that Ashley ever made it to New York City. Her mother, a resident of Rensselaer, New York, later filed a missing person report. The circumstances surrounding Ashley's disappearance are considered suspicious by investigators. Her boyfriend has stated that he never saw her on the day she went missing. Authorities do not believe she ever went back to her Troy apartment, as all of her clothing and jewelry were found there, items she likely would have taken for her planned trip. Ashley did not own a car and relied on others for transportation. A significant detail in the investigation is that her cell phone has not been used since her disappearance. Its last known location was tracked to an area near a friend's residence on Marlborough Court in Albany. Both the Albany and Rensselaer Police Departments are involved in the ongoing investigation into Ashley Carroll's disappearance. Her case is classified as an endangered missing person. There has been speculation about a possible connection between Ashley's case and the disappearances of two other individuals, Steven Jackson and Donald Green, who also went missing from Albany in 2010. Two men, Anthony "Inf" Davis and Ricky "L" Thornton, were considered persons of interest in the disappearances of Jackson and Green. While they faced charges related to Jackson's case, they were ultimately acquitted. The investigation into Ashley's whereabouts remains active, with her family holding out hope for answers.
