Ada Marie Odell, a 50-year-old woman, was last seen on July 1, 2010, in Dunnellon, Florida. She had recently been diagnosed with cancer, adding urgency to the investigation into her disappearance. Ada lived with her boyfriend, Raul Diaz Sosa, at the time. He reported her missing the day after she was last seen, noting that she had left behind her personal belongings, including her purse and cellphone.
In the days following her disappearance, Sosa drove to Miami in a vehicle that Ada had purchased, taking her dog, Moca, with him. Moca was later found wandering the streets in Miami, identified by her microchip, and was returned to Ada's cousin. Sosa returned to Dunnellon but left again shortly afterward. Law enforcement officers found freshly turned soil near the couple's home but discovered only trash and old clothing upon excavation.
Sosa was named a person of interest in Ada's disappearance, but he refused to cooperate with authorities, hiring an attorney and avoiding further contact. Ada's case remains unsolved, and authorities continue to seek information regarding her whereabouts.
