In the winter of 2010, 37-year-old Bruce Allen Evans was living in his native Tucson, Arizona, having returned to his hometown the previous year after spending several years in Arkansas designing and building handguns. On the morning of December 21, he left his residence in the 3700 block of west Ironwood Hill Drive. He was reportedly accompanied by a co-worker and was heading to Phoenix on business for the southside gun shop where he was employed. Evans was expected to return home that same evening, but he never did. He was last seen driving a white 2009 Chevrolet 3/4 ton cargo van. When he failed to come back, his family reported him missing to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

The circumstances surrounding Bruce Evans's disappearance were immediately considered suspicious by investigators. Neither he nor the cargo van he was driving have ever been located. His family expressed early on that they did not believe he would have just left, with his sister stating, 'He wouldn't just leave. He always told us that he couldn't leave again. He couldn't leave Mom again.' Tragically, his family has come to believe he is no longer alive. Described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, standing at 6'4' and weighing between 155 and 200 pounds, Evans has several distinct physical features. He has piercings in his nipples and tongue, a birthmark on his right wrist, and numerous tattoos. These tattoos include a large dragon and a tribal circle design on his shins, a skull on his upper left torso, and wraparound barbed wire on his upper right arm. The Pima County Sheriff's Department continues to seek information from the public regarding his whereabouts.
