Kelly Rothwell, a 35-year-old police cadet, was last seen on March 12, 2011, after having lunch with a friend in Clearwater, Florida. She told her friend that she was planning to return to her Indian Rocks Beach home to break up with her long-term boyfriend, David Perry, whom she described as controlling and abusive. Neighbors later reported hearing loud noises, like thumps, from the couple's condo, followed by the sound of vacuuming.
