Patrick Carnes, an 86-year-old World War II veteran, was last seen on April 13, 2011, near Wells, Nevada. He had been driving home to Reno from a visit with relatives in Toledo, Ohio, accompanied by his beloved dog, Lucky. That evening, Carnes was pulled over by the Nevada Highway Patrol for a minor traffic violation along Interstate 80. During the stop, Carnes mentioned he was following a truck heading toward Elko. This was the last confirmed sighting of him.
