Bach Van Nguyen, 48, disappeared on June 26, 2011, while navigating Tomales Bay near Dillon Beach, California. He was aboard a 12-foot aluminum motorboat, ferrying family and friends between Lawson’s Landing and the tip of Tomales Point. After dropping off his passengers, Nguyen was seen returning to the beach when he fell out of the boat and was heard screaming for help. A woman nearby witnessed the incident through binoculars and immediately alerted authorities.
Despite a swift and thorough search, neither Nguyen nor his body was recovered. His boat was found washed ashore with a broken throttle near Tom’s Point. Nguyen is presumed lost at sea, and his case remains classified as a lost/injured missing person. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, size 32x29 pants, and a yellow gold ring with small diamonds on his ring finger.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Department continues to handle the investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact them.
