Maurice James II, a 29-year-old man from San Francisco, went missing on July 31, 2011, under mysterious circumstances. He was last seen by his roommate before going to bed. When his roommate woke up the next day, Maurice was gone, leaving behind most of his personal belongings, including his wallet and phone, though his iPod and transit card were missing.
In the days following his disappearance, some of his belongings, including his iPod and clothes, were found neatly folded on Mile Rock Beach in San Francisco. Witnesses reported seeing a man fitting Maurice's description, naked, near the same beach, but despite extensive searches, no further trace of him was found.
Maurice had served seven years in the military and had since been pursuing a career in the culinary arts. His blog entries just before he went missing revealed financial struggles and cryptic messages, including one stating he wouldn't make it to age 30. Due to these clues and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, authorities suspect he may have taken his own life, although his body was never recovered.
His case remains unsolved, and the San Francisco Police Department continues to ask for public assistance in the investigation.Last Seen: Jul 31, 2011
