On the night of his disappearance, Cameron was last seen behaving erratically at the hotel. After being asked to leave due to his behavior, he checked out of his room but left his belongings, including the cash, with the hotel, intending to retrieve them later. He contacted a friend for assistance with booking another room but changed his mind, claiming he had found a place to stay. Cameron's family grew worried when he stopped making his usual daily calls to them after October 6. Despite several unconfirmed sightings in the San Francisco area in the following months, no substantial leads have emerged. His bank accounts, phone, and social media have shown no activity since his disappearance.
Cameron is also part of a group known as the "California Five," a group of young men who went missing in San Francisco between 2010 and 2013.
